My wife (Kate) had an Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck). We did a load of research, no doubt just like you, we went to see a top surgeon in Leeds and attended an appointment at a specialist plastic surgery centre (also in Leeds). There is no doubt, the surgeon we talked is a top guy in his field; Trouble is he talks that way, tending to reduce the wants/requirements of the patient to medical possibilities topped of with a liberal sprinkling of the risks involved. At this point he informed us that our time was up and if we wanted more information it would be a couple of hundred quid for a consultation. We went away... to think about it... and continue looking. Next we went to a well known medical group. It is quite a nice office/clinic but as the conversation progressed I got the clear impression that this is a company who provide a service and take a cut of the fee. I felt that to this company the surgeon was simply a sub-contractor. I didn't like the feel of this place at all, and - not knowing Leeds too well, it may also prove difficult parking close enough to the building when attending after-care appointments when Kate could not walk too far after surgery. We continued looking and found Mr David Lam based in Sheffield, Kate made an appointment to David at Thornbury hospital and along we went. From the instant we first saw this man I think we both knew we would look no further, he sort of stomped into the corridor where we were waiting. Kate looked at him with amusement and he ( as if acknowledging it was a little funny for a surgeon to be rushing around like that) broke into a big genuine smile and asked... Kate? And in we went. This man listened and took the time to understand what Kate was trying to achieve and why she wanted this procedure. He asked about us, who we were, what we did for a living etc. You see David Lam is a surgeon of the utmost integrity, he considered everything very carefully before agreeing to be Kate's surgeon. Now don't get me wrong here, David went through all the benefits and all risks were clearly and professionally communicated. I guess that what really sets this top surgeon head and shoulders above the others we saw is that despite being a top surgeon he is above all 'human' and much prefers to communicate the way most of us do, you know one human to another, so we all know where we are at. Needless to say we went ahead with David, he made operation day as painless as possible for Kate (and for me). The procedure was a complete success, I'm not sure who was most pleased with the outcome, Kate or David. As for me, I'd been worried sick about this but man... what a difference its made :) Kate is very happy and that makes me happy. If you read this David, as a measure of success, the procedure was in November and you said Kate should buy a bikini for our holiday in January, well she bought 4 and we had a wonderful 2 weeks in Thailand. Thank you David

I had breast enlargement surgery by David Lam at Claremont Hospital in Sheffield and it was a totally 5 star experience from beginning to end. Mr Lam listened to my requirements, asked lots of really good questions about why I wanted the procedure, talked me through pros and cons, and gave me lots of advice. The operation went perfectly and I am so pleased with my new look. My new breasts actually look and feel quite normal, you wouldn't know I had implants apart from my boob size is much bigger. Mr Lam himself was very pleased with the result and I have said that he can use my photos on the website because my boobs look so good!
